Every good thing must come to an end :(

We are home now from Anna Maria Island and I am trying to keep a positive attitude about it.....at least I did get to experience a slice of heaven! We woke up Wednesday morning and after a jog, took J to the Cafe on the Beach for all you can eat pancakes. K and I decided not to eat there but J went to town. I took a few bites too and they were damn good pancakes! I sent Mel this picture and needless to say, she was super jealous.

It was lunch time when J finished his pancakes and K and I had gotten hungry so we stopped at the Havana Cabana for a hot pressed Cuban. It was delish and the owner was very friendly. We talked to him a while about life and the Island and the Tampa Bay Rays. After lunch, we chilled at the pool for the rest of the day until it was time to go to the Rays game. J, K and I headed over to St. Petersburg that evening for the Tampa Bay vs. Toronto MLB game. It was J's first MLB game and he was so excited and what a great game it was. TB won 10-1 and we saw some really great plays. J was in heaven and had such a great time.

Thursday morning, I got up and took a 3 mile walk on the beach and then we went shopping for souvenirs for Taylor and Mary Katherine and Anna Claire. After that, we went and rented bikes again and went straight to the North Point of the beach and hung out. We were told earlier in the week that this was the best place to find sand dollars so hunting we went. The day was gorgeous and we found at least 30 or more sand dollars. They were all still alive though and we did not want to kill them so it was a catch and release kind of day. We got hungry and went back to the Sandbar for lunch. K had a tilapia sandwich and J and I both had the grouper sandwich. They did not disappoint. After lunch we hung out more at the beach and then grabbed some ice cream from Dips on our way to turn in the bikes.

Dad and Dee took everyone to dinner at the Sandbar that night and everything was delicious again! The workers are beginning to know us there. J had shrimp anna, K had the sesame crusted tuna and I had the Mahi Longboat. After dinner, Shelly, who is a professional photographer took beach pics right before and at sunset. I can't wait to get copies of those from her but I did snag a shot while she was trying to get a pic of the kids with Dad and Dee. She was quite impressive with her skills and getting everyone to listen to what she wanted them to do.

We caught another beautiful sunset and K and I checked out the wedding that was going on at the beach. We discussed earlier that day that we would like to get married on the Island when the time comes and the Sandbar had a wedding going on. They have a little pavilion on the beach next to the restaurant that they use for weddings. I wasn't all that impressed with it though. We decided what we would probably like is a little ceremony on the actual sandbar and then a house party/shrimp and crab boil back at the house. Now if only he will "officially" ask me!!!!!! Here was that night's sunset:

We got up Friday and got in every last second of pool time that we could get before having to get ready and head to the airport. We left for the airport at noon and had a pretty uneventful day after that, which we were thankful for after J had such a horrible time getting there with his earache and getting so sick. We got back home around 7:00 Friday evening and ordered in some Pancho's and chilled at the house.

We got up Saturday morning and went to Bryant's and got a big, yummy breakfast and then hung out at the Riviera all day. J and I ran up to Whole Foods later that afternoon for some chicken salad and pasta salad to carb and protein load for our big race that night. J, K and I headed downtown around 5:30 for the Gibson Guitar 5K. It was J's first 5K and he did great. We jogged the first 2 miles without stopping and then walk/ran the last mile. After the race, there was an after party on the rooftop of the Gibson Guitar Factory. We listened to the band, K and I had a few cups of beer and J had a smoothie. He was super duper hungry and they ran out of food before he got any so we stopped at Huey's on the way home. K made a deal with J that every time he runs a 5K, we will go to Huey's for dinner, so J is wanting to know when the next 5K is.

J and I got up this morning and met Mom, Roy, Sissy, John and Taylor at church. Mom looked really good and said she is starting to feel a little better. After church, Roy and mom took us to lunch at Houston's. After lunch, I took J to meet his dad and came home and took a nice long nap. I'm spending tonight watching the Alabama/Crimson baseball game and getting ready to go back to work tomorrow......all good things must come to an end :(((((((((
