Laid back

Once again, I'm so bad at updating my blog. I swear with being in school while working full time & taking care of my guys, it seems like I don't have time to keep up with hardly anything else. Hell, most days I'm not able to check my Facebook, Instagram and twitter until I go to bed but I wouldn't change it for the world. I guess I'll post about last weekends activities since nothing much goes on blog worthy during the week unless I posted about research or something else as boring.
We started the weekend off with a relax sesh on the front porch and ride the 4 wheeler around the property and the hood.
We also enjoyed a beautiful sunset and did some target shooting.

I hit Canale's Grocery and the Farmer's Market early Saturday morning; which produced an amazing local lunch!
Saturday night, K & I rode in the Meritan Midnight Bike Ride.
This was the first year K & I rode in it and it was the first year it was at Tiger Lane. We didn't really know what to expect but now we know that we need to set up like we are tailgating at the beginning and we need to bling our bikes out.
We rode 17 miles through midtown with about 2000 other bikers in the wee hours of the morning. It was a blast but we are going to get more invested last year and plan better since we weren't able to find our friends that we planned on riding with.
Sunday was a lazy day except for working at church and hanging out with this little nugget! Layton, my new grandnephew, was born last week and it absolutely gorg.
Well there it is, another weekend wrap up. I'm such a lame blogger :(

Ryan & Mal's Wedding

Last weekend was Ryan & Mal's wedding and we had a blast. K, J & I headed down to Louisiana on Thursday and Mom & Roy came down Friday. The rehearsal & dinner at Cafe Josephine were Friday night.
We had planned to play a round of golf with Ryan before the wedding Saturday but couldn't find a tee time early enough so we went exploring and to lunch on the Bayou.
Dale & I watched some Cowboys preseason football and then we all headed to the church for the big event.
It was a beautiful wedding & a really fun reception. We stayed at the reception hall dancing and laughing until 1:30 in the morning. The DJ and all of Ryan & Mal's friends provided lots of laughs. I also got to see this pic for the first time:
Yep, that's my hot husband when he was a young buck w/ Kyle and Ryan hangin on him like a bunch of monkeys. I love it!

First Day of Eighth Grade

School started back last week and now I am the proud owner of an eighth grader.
He wasn't ready to get out of bed so I had to bribe him with some Gibson's Donuts.
I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. I remember when I cried leaving him at school for the first time in kindergarten and now I have to make an effort to go in and get pics on his first day :(

Last minute get away

IJake and I were tricked into taking a shopping trip to Nashville with Melanie & Wendy and their boys before school started. It was a trick because it fell on tax free weekend and I didn't know it.
The mall was insane! It was like what I imagine Black Friday is like but when it was all over, we made out with some really great deals so I didn't stay too mad at Melanie and her awesome planning.
We also made our way to a Nashville Sounds baseball game, downtown Nashville and downtown Franklin where we shopped more.
The waitress at Dick's Last Resort made Jake a special hat and the hotel left him a special robe!

Overdue relaxation

The first week home from New York was pretty stressful since I had homework and work work to catch up on while battling a full blown sinus infection but I made it through and had a glorious weekend with nothing more than nothing on the schedule. J and I went to see The Heat Friday afternoon and that night we rented some more movies and cooked red beans & rice.

K & I got up Saturday morning and decided we needed steaks for dinner so we went to the Fayette Packing Co. and the Farmer's Market to get what we needed for the amazing dinner we grilled after lounging all day long catching up on our DVR shows.

After church Sunday, we went for a Sunday drive in the country and then picked up some new adirondak chairs to put on the front porch and spent the rest of the day enjoying the weather out there. It was simple perfection!
